I am filling in and teaching a few kinder ballet classes today at the studio I work for. I’m a bit rusty and haven’t danced in a while, but I’m really looking forward to it.

When I graduated from high school one of the things I treated myself to (since I didn’t go away to college) was a bedroom makeover. At the time, pink, black, white and tan seemed a more sophisticated color palate. However, now that I’m finished with college I feel that my room deserves another makeover. It has endured countless hours of studying and clutter with me, and like myself, is ready for another change. So as I begin the journey towards my career, I’ve decided to take on an additional project and refresh my room. Neutral greys are clean and elegant, which is perfect for the vision I have of decluttering and creating a more minimalist haven.

Wishing everyone a Happy New Year! I spent mine with a few good friends at the Charles T. Fischer mansion in Detroit. It’s a beautiful early 20th century house that is located in the historic Boston Edison District. My friend organized the party and it couldn’t have been better. We dressed to the nine’s and rang in the New Year with cheesy party favors, dancing and champagne. Here’s hoping that 2013 is better and brighter.

One of my favorite “little things” about living New York this summer is working right above a Dean & Deluca in SoHo. I love running down for a coffee and croissant in the morning and walking in to the market atmosphere with fresh flowers and food and a classical music soundtrack.
